Mutant fish with transparent scales found in Japanese fishery

The ayu, or sweetfish, is a delicacy in Japan and has opaque scales. However, the discovery of an ayu with transparent scales in a Japanese Fishery has surprised both Japanese fishermen and scientists.

The odd looking fish was found in the Gifu prefecture, and was about 15 centimetres long.

The unique see-through ayu was found among a batch of 300,000 fish.

A research center had kept the specimen in an aquarium to find out the cause of the mutation, but sadly the fish died at the end of the month due to unknown reasons.

This article was contribute by the STOMP Team.

Images 1 shows the see-through ayu. Image 2 and 3 show man-made see through fish. And the rest of the gallery shows other weird sea creatures and animals.

@iphoneyou

*facepalm*

first time i ever seen this dumb answer, is not radioactive water, Deepsea fish are commonly found in deepsea like the one in the picture, it common for fisherman to actually fish them out during the night, as they only active in the dark, they normally stay away from light place so that no other big fish will eat them, which is why they are uncommon and not been able to see everyday and only can be found 30,000m deep under the sea
