How do you bond with your loved ones? Well for these Singaporean families, an activity that has brought them closer together is by going under the knife in South Korea -- together.
Make-up artist Veronica Ng, 22, was the first to head to Seoul for a nose job and an eyelid procedure in September 2011. Shortly after that, her mother, Mary, 57, liked the results on her daughter so she went for a procedure in February while Veronica's older sister, Elizabeth, 27, went for plastic surgery in June this year.
Veronica said she wanted to mark her 21st birthday with a fresh start, and she picked South Korea over Thailand because "everyone has heard of the (South Korean) surgeons' skills".
Another family has also gone under the knife. Mr Teoh, his wife and his three daughters went to Seoul in January for a 12-day trip and they had their procedures done at the same time. It is meaningful to him as they "have finally found something (they) enjoy doing as a family".
