A man who held a female check-point security officer hostage at a subway station on July 19 was shot dead by Commando unit sniper after unsuccessful negotiation attempts.
An online video of the hostage situation that occurred in Beijing went viral last week and has had over 3.5 million views and close to 9000 views.
Authorities attempted to negotiate with the hostage-taker at exit B of Hujialou subway station for 70 minutes, but failed to make any progress.
