Another crash involving fast cars: WRX left burning after collision with GTR in CBD

STOMPers spotted the aftermath of a collision between a white Nissan GTR and a blue Subaru WRX at Shenton Way this morning. The GTR spun out of control and was left facing the flow of traffic, while the WRX hit a tree and caught fire.

STOMPers Goh and Mic both sent in pictures and comments about the accident.

Goh wrote:

"A white GTR and a blue WRX were are badly crushed.

"The white GTR span off and was left facing against the flow of traffic.

"The blue WRX hit a tree and the front portion was burning.

"Six police cars were on site and traffic police were taking measurements of the road.

"I hope no one was killed on this."

Mic wrote:

"There was a crash on Shenton Way.

"A Subaru Impreza and a Nissan GTR got into a bad accident.

"The Subaru was on fire earlier."

A spokesperson for the Singapore Police Force said:

"Police received the call at 6.50am.

"Upon arrival, Police established that government property had been damaged as a result of the accident.

I like this sentence "Upon arrival, Police established that government property had been damaged as a result of the accident".

Whoever the driver is at fault, good luck cos once you damage "Ah Gong" property, the claim will give you a fright of your lifetime. Anything belonging to Ah Gong for some reason tends to be more expensive (X times the regular price).

Must be racing..... luckily no innocent lives lost. Hope our
TP investigate this case thoroughly & seriously.....& if possible, suspend their licence until full report out otherwise, such accidents will happen again.

Seriously....too many hot-blooded high testerone young drivers on the road these days is a cause for alarm. Just hope they do not injure innocent people around. When will they learn?

The irony was the police was surveying the trees, lamppost etc. They don't even find out about the drivers. The drivers probably were racing and ended this way. Their insurance agents are going to jack up their premium or refuse to insure them. Good luck to them.
