Is this allowed? Taxi sports modified roof sign with Chinese characters

STOMPer Watakongsi spotted this taxi with what appears to be a modified roof sign. He wonders if this is allowed.

"I was dismayed that the driver decided to modify the roof sign.

"Was it sanctioned by the operator?"

Taxi uncle paid his own car rental & not LTA ( Like To Act) nor the stomper. As long as the regular sign is retain, additional info added is not yo *****.... business. Understand? Why so K about it !!

Actually this doesn't bother me.

What bother me it those cabs without lighted roof sign.

At night time, you are hardly able to tell whether they are cabs. Even if you manage to discern that they are cabs, you cannot tell whether it is being hired or not. This also applies to daytime.

LTA should endure that all taxis should be fitted with lighted roof sign.
