Construction worker's body found 45 minutes after being run over by tipper truck

A construction worker's body was found only 45 minutes after being run over and pinned by a tipper truck yesterday morning (June 25) near Kranji Loop.

The vehicle driver, known only as Mr Zhu, only discovered the body after coming back from his morning tea 45 minutes later and had no idea that he had knocked the worker.

Zhu has since been arrested for causing death by a negligent act and investigations are still ongoing.

The construction worker, known as only as Mr Sathis is believed to have been an Indian national who has been in Singapore for only 6 months.

He was pronounced dead at the scene after his head and chest had been crushed.

Said STOMPer Ardot:

"This really is very tragic.

"He probably came over to provide his family with a better life.

"Now, they are presented with the news that their loved one has passed away."

sad to say this but i've work with FW for quite sometime, quota per worksite of S'porean is 10%, to educate them on safety measures is a very difficult task, when asked, they would answer yes, i undestand just to avoid being scolded if they answer no but infact, most of them don't understand what we are teach them because of language barrier n most of all, they belong to different culture.. RIP to this guy, things would have been better in the 'good old days'.

Poor thing, R.I.P. They always like to sit at roadside while waiting their company transport, like Lim Chu kang runway near Murai road, they can sit in one whole lane in the early morning everyday. Careful while driving the area..
