NTUC FairPrice is currently investigating the incident in which STOMPer Mui found a cigarette butt in her bottle of preserved orange peel and would like to assure all that food quality and safety are of paramount importance.
Said an NTUC Spokesperson:
"FairPrice is investigating the incident and assures that food quality and safety are of paramount importance.
"This is in response to the STOMP posting “Cigarette butt found in bottle of preserved orange peel from NTUC FairPrice” by STOMPer Mui on 14 June 2012.
"We thank STOMPer Mui for highlighting this incident to us.
"FairPrice takes food quality and safety matters very seriously and is working with the supplier of this product to investigate this matter.
"We have also been in touch with STOMPer Mui directly to help us in our investigations as well.
