6-year-old Felix requested for donations from his guests for ACRES at his birthday party instead of gifts -- a mature and charitable act for a child of his age.
STOMPer hellokittyfan came across a photo shared on facebook by Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (ACRES), an animal welfare organization and a registered charity in Singapore. What amazed the STOMPer was the level of maturity displayed by this six years old boy, and how he put 'others before self' into practice, even for non-humans.
A facebook user's comment went:
"So heart-warming. Just six years old and yet such a big heart!"
Another facebook user Sharon writes:
"It's the positive influence adults have on the kids, so shed some love and light on loving animals and humans to your kids. These kids will eventually give back and carry on the charitable act when they grow up."
The STOMPer writes:
"This is truly inspiring. It shows how selfless this child is.
"With so many coverage on the bad behaviour of youths in Singapore nowadays, Felix has shown that with positive influence, our youths can also become mature individuals.
"Good job Felix!"
Where government school students are dwelling in some useless ECAs, and living in a "education class system" that the only thing that is imparted in students' brains are "elitism". Trust me, with the mindset of elitism - they probably kick a dog than donate money for an animal shelter.
Well done, Felix.
@seashell: Yes, clearly because TWO charities out a few thousand were corrupt, it must mean they ALL are. Even animal charities that DON'T make millions and host TV shows.
