S'porean StanChart banker detained in China has been released after 3 months
Eden Wu, pictured with her fiance, Mr Tan.
Eden Wu Yidian, 31, a Singaporean banker who was detained in China since early March for allegedly harbouring a man suspected of embezzlement has been released.
She was formerly with the Standard Chartered bank, and was supposed to return to Singapore to marry her fiance Jason David Tan on March 24.
However, she was detained on March 6 for allegedly her client, Sun Feng, 40, reported to be a China-born Singaporean. He is suspected of embezzling S$63.4m.
A StanChart spokesperson in Hong Kong said Eden Wu had been released from custody but declined to comment further.
Conditions for her release include her remaining in China for one year and not speaking to the media, Wu's fiance told the media.
