STOMPer actblur is disappointed that family members of the dead Ferrari driver's family ranted at netizens instead of apologising to the victims.
Said the STOMPer:
"I saw this posted on a forum. Cannot believe my eyes that the cousin of the Ferrari driver was ranting at netizens instead of coming out to apologise on his reckless behalf to the crash victims.
"No remorse at all; so sad for those who were injured and died.
"The reckless behaviour of one driver destroyed so many families.
"The traffic police must do more road patrols. Hardly see them spot checking at all nowadays."
According to the report in Shin Min Daily, a family member told reporters through a friend, "The rich are not always at fault, we hope netizens will hold their poisonous tongues."
A younger cousin also said on her microblog in Chinese:
"My brother was not of the 'rich second generation'! When he was 18 years old he started to earn his own money. Through the finance business.
"I saw a lot of netizens saying my brother was a 'rich second generation', and he deserved to die, I feel like telling you!
"Even if you cannot afford a Ferrari 599GTO, you don't need to say those who can are of the 'rich second generation' right?
"Just because my brother drove a 599 and the woman sat in a taxi it doesn't mean one shouldn't feel sad for him?
"I'm also very sad of the woman's passing, but please, netizens, also do respect that us, the relatives, are also sad over this."
Video footage showed the Ferrari driver had run a red light and knocked into a taxi which then hit a motorcycle. The Ferrari driver, the taxi driver and the taxi passenger have died, while the mystery Ferrari passenger and the motorcyclist survived the crash.
Chinese netizens have also slammed the Ferrari driver, Ma Chi, 31, as a spoilt, rich brat who is a disgrace.
