The fixed tables at a McDonald's outlet where a worker had to balance on a ladder placed on a cushion seat will be replaced with moveable ones, so that ladders can be placed safely on the ground, says a spokesperson.
The spokesperson said:
"This is in response to the STOMP posting 'So much for safety’: Fast food restaurant staff works on improperly-placed ladder' by STOMPer Nauzir on 1 May 2012.
"We thank STOMPer Nauzir for the feedback and would like to assure that the safety of our employees is very important to us. We will be replacing the two fixed tables with moveable tables in that restaurant area so that our employees can remove the tables and safely position the ladder on the ground before cleaning the air ventilation.
"We appreciate all the feedback on this matter and will ensure that all our restaurants continue to practise and adhere to work safety procedures."
