STOMPer Drunken Monkey wondered why Miss Singapore World organisers prefer pan-Asian looking girls for the pageant. He felt that Singaporean women look pretty, and add the local element to the pageant.
The organisers, Limelite Productions, feel that looking for women with brains did not work in 2011.
Last years contestants were posed tough questions.
But 2011's Miss Singapore World representative, polytechnic student May Hsu, did not place in the finals of the pageant
So this year, only pan-Asian looking women need apply.
A spokesperson for the company said pan-Asian contestants should both Asian and Caucasian features.
These contestants will have their hair colour lightened, their skin tanned, and they will also wear contact lenses to lighten their eye colour for the rest of the
Said the STOMPer:
"I feel that this year's criteria that only pan-Asian girls need apply is a tad nonsensical.
"Singaporean women are just as, if not more beautiful than pan-Asian girls.
"As a guy, I feel that the pageant should not loose that local element that makes it unique.
"If we simply send pan-Asian girls who look like pan-Asian contestants from other countries, how will we stand out from the crowd?"
