Good idea for tertiary schools in S'pore? China holds inter-varsity pageant

Besides the usual nation-wide school competitions, campus belles from across schools in China also compete in an annual national school beauty pageant.

Contestants have to go through three rounds, including fashion, talent and question segments before the winners are announced.

Several famous Chinese stars were reportedly present at the most recent contest to give their support.

"In Singapore, we have various sports and academic-based inter-schools competitions, but we haven't seen a national school beauty pageant like this one.

"I understand that tertiary institutions have their own beauty pageants, why not compete against one another to see which school has the most gorgeous people?

"Anyhow, I think the winners of this China's national beauty pageant are not that pretty!"
