14-year-old boy killed for having same name as man of a higher social class

A low-caste 14-year-old Dalit boy was apparently strangled to death in Uttar Pradesh, India allegedly for sharing the same name with a man of a higher caste.

Jawahar Chaudhary, who belongs to a higher caste, has reportedly been attempting to get the boy's father to change his sons' names, as they were the same as Chaudhary's sons.

However, Chaudhary denied the involvement of his family in the murder. He said the family was being framed by the police.

Dalits, formerly known as 'untouchables', are at the bottom of the Hindu caste system in India.

I learned about the Indian caste in history lessons back when I was in sec 1. It still exist today and I saw on channel news asia that a couple from different caste was killed when they want to get married. Because their parents feel that they disgrace their family...
Don't miss these...
