The first instalment of the Star Awards on Sunday evening raised many eyebrows -- not only because of actresses' plunging necklines, but numerous fashion fails amongst the stars, says STOMPer Narnia, who was amused at the stars' fashion sense from awards shows, past and present.
Said Narnia:
"I caught the Star Awards Show 1 with my family, and we were shocked by Cynthia Koh's outfit as she seemed to be wearing only a black 'swimsuit' underneath some translucent material. Last year, Michelle Chia wore a similar dress.
"Maybe they can compete with the outrageous outfits of Lady Gaga, who will be in Singapore next month for a concert.
"Some wore mid-drift-baring clothes, which made me wonder if they were going to the beach or a glamourous television event to honour talent.
"Some turned up in suits of garish colours like orange and pink which really hurt my eyes...
"I don't know why Qi Yiwu wore a cape over a very traditional Chinese-looking top...looks like a misplaced superhero.
"However I think Jesseca Liu looked gorgeous, and of course we couldn't take our eyes off Ann Kok's plunging (and generous) neckline. Those are fashion wins."
