Smugglers find a new way to bring in iPhones to China -- inside beer bottles

STOMPer Apple was surprised to read about a case online in which China-based smugglers tried to bring in iPhones...inside beer bottles.

Said the STOMPer:

"Smugglers are really quite ingenious nowadays. They have to keep finding ways to get around the police.

"This time, these smugglers used 70 bottles to smuggle 216 iPhones across the border.

"There is a high import tax on technology-based products so smugglers have to find all ways and means to get them into China.

"They wrapped the iPhones with black plastic bags and put them into the empty and cut-open beer bottle before taping it together.

"I think it's quite dumb actually...Ingenious because of the method, but you know, there are controls on alcohol and liquids we bring overseas.

"Maybe they had a drop too much to drink while emptying the bottles. Hehe."

Oh wait, it'll be useless. The smugglers can easily circumvent any Customs controls by bribing the officials with 500 RMB, if our Motherland role model is anything to go by.

Good to let our Customs Officers know in advance. Since we're in the process of transforming into Sinapore, you can expect many more rascally tactics like these very soon.
