If you're a fatty in Japan, you might be breaking the law
According to a law passed four years ago, it's illegal to be fat in Japan. It is against the Japanese law to pass the stipulated waist measurements -- 33.5 and 35.4 inches for men and women respectively.
If you exceed the stated measurements, you will have to attend counselling with a doctor or, for the more corpulent individuals, might be responsible for your company getting fined.
The goal of this program is to prevent obesity, as well as to lower healthcare costs.

"But this law shouldn't include those with medical conditions due to medication that makes them put on weight."
