STOMPer ConcernedMUM is worried about the disturbing trend among Singaporean women who offer sex for money, after learning that more local women are linked to the pimp of the underage prostitute who has caused 48 men to be charged in court.
In an article in The New Paper, at least 15 prostitutes between 18 and 47 years old had allegedly worked for the pimp, 38-year-old Tang Boon Thiew. The women are all Singaporeans and are believed to include models, students and working professionals.
The STOMPer wrote:
"Girls, before you sell your body for money, please consider the feelings of your loved ones.
"In a TNP article, a mother found out that her daughter who was not even 16 was a prostitute. When her daughter was nabbed and sent to girls' home, the mother tried to kill herself. It must have been very heartbreaking for this mother.
"There are other ways to earn money without having to sell your body. I hope these Singaporean women will have some dignity."
"Parents, please show more concern towards your daughters too. Attention is more valuable than the money we earn for them.
"Now both mother and daughter are trying to patch their lives up, but it's saddening that mistrust and suspicions are still around."
