Breathtaking rainbow over Serangoon
STOMPer Patrick was amazed at this rainbow that crept up on Serangoon. Adding to that, Patrick was also curious as to why a rainbow would appear, especially since there was no rain before.
Patrick said:
"At around 7pm there was a marvelous rainbow in the crimson red sky.
"I was very sure that there had been no rain before it appeared.
"What could have caused this magnificent phenomenon?
"The rainbow only lasted for a few minutes before disappearing though."

There is no requirement for there to be (recent) rain at the location of the observer.
A rainbow requires *ongoing* rain at correct location relative the the observer and the sun. Roughly speaking, the sun should be relatively low, and the rain must be at the opposite side of the sky.
