This video will bring you to tears: Loyal dog guards dead friend's carcass on busy road

A true display of courage and loyalty -- this black Labrador retriever braved traffic to stay by another dog who was fatally injured after being hit by a car on April 12, 2012, in La Puente, Calif.

Netizens were touched by this black Labrador retriever's admirable act when they watched the video which was uploaded on YouTube on Sunday (Apr 15). It has garnered over 2000 views in less than 24 hours.

The black Labrador retriever, named Grace, was taken to a local shelter and put up for adoption. However, the man who recorded the video on his handphone was said to have already put in an application to adopt Grace.

I really hope those who fear dogs out of religious responsibilities or phobia can slowly open themselves to alternate choices such as adopting dogs as their domestic pets, and not because we are living in Singapore. Dogs are loyal by nature and they love unconditionally. You have no idea what you are missing. Truly.

@beautifulMind Some religious views restrict skin contact with a dog in some circumstances so we should respect that. Some people are scared of cats and hamsters just as much as those who are scared of dogs. So religion is really not the point here.

this is really touching. well this really shows the nature of dogs. they are loyal. how can people say dogs are just dogs? now look at this. this shows that dogs have feelings too you know. seriously to dogs are more humane.
