Primary school boy knocked down by SMRT bus at Woodlands traffic junction

A nine-year-old boy was hit by an SMRT bus yesterday (April 09) at the junction of Woodlands Drive 63 and Woodlands Avenue 6.

According to online reports, the boy was sent to the KK Women's and Children's Hospital at 3.09pm due to a fractured ankle.

People who witnessed the accident said the boy is from a nearby primary school.

Bus service 912, which was involved in the accident, had 28 passengers on board.

No passenger was injured in the incident.

SMRT said it is in touch with the boy's mother and will be assisting the family.

The bus driver has been suspended from duty, and the Police are investigating the case.

Said STOMPer Mike:

"It is sad and unfortunate that such an incident.

"Netizens have mentioned that the fact that this happened barely a week after a bus dragged an old woman to her death.

"This will definitely be a blow to the public bus industry, as the public will not view such accidents lightly."

Strange and lots of sad and worries of bus drivers here in our country now, all this accidents rarely happens during the 80s, 90s and early 2000, where mostly bus drivers are our local Singaporean and Malaysian, who obey Singapore road rules and regulation?????

everyday i sit 912, i always had a feeling the bus drivers were irresponsible and reckless. not to mention the 30 min waiting time for these darn buses.
