Body of suspected jumper found at foot of Ang Mo Kio HDB block

The ominous blue 'death tent' was spotted again early this morning, this time at the foot of a block of flats in Ang Mo Kio. The fourth and eleventh floor windows of the block of flats were found to have been left open by their occupants.

STOMPer Sirus wrote:

"This incident happened at Block 420, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, at around 6 plus, almost 7am.

"My friend was alerted when his mum saw it and woke him up. He did not hear any sound of the incident.

"The person involved is a suspected jumper, either from fourth or eleventh floor as the windows on those floors were left wide open.

"No ambulance was seen, only a few police. There were no bystanders too."

Frankly, before the existence of the internet channels like discussion forums & Stomp, many suicide cases in S'pore went unreported & unnoticed by the mass-media & general public.

On a separate note, I'm not sure if it is more tragic to see the premature termination of another human life, or to see people (including Stomp readers) seeking out suicide or accident cases to obtain numbers to bet on 4D.

Is such callousness unique to S'pore society ? Do such insensitive behaviour commonly occur in places like Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Japan or Russia for instance ?

I was there... its a woman jumper. The body was removed at about 10am. Not many bystanders. Only a few here and there, but most left the scene after a short while. There was also a press photographer there.
