How does it feel to be in the middle of an earthquake? These unsettling pictures, taken by a STOMPer in Christchurch, New Zealand, show the havoc wreaked by the recent quake there.
Christchurch, New Zealand's second largest city, was hit by a 6.3-magnitude earthquake on Feb 22. New Zealand police said the death toll could rise as high as 200.
A 55-man SCDF team with search dogs, led by LTC Ling Kok Yong, has been searching for survivors 1 km west of Latimer Square since Feb 23

"These photos were taken from Feb 19 to Feb 23.
"I had come to Christchurch, New Zealand for a urology conference.
"A couple of the pictures from just before the quake, and the rest show the aftermath.
"I was in a meeting at the time, when suddenly I felt the room shake violently. Then the lights and roof started falling in and I dived under a chair.
"Everyone was screaming.
"When it subsided, we all ran out of the convention centre. All the glass in the building had been smashed.
"Outside I called my wife to tell her I was safe. She thought it was a prank call and was going to hang up on me.
"You could hear buildings crashing down every three to four minutes.
"We were taken by emergency services to Hagley Park and then off to the Red Cross Relief Centre which they had erected very quickly."
