Petrol stations in Dubai provide both air and water for vehicles

The two-in-one air and water dispensers at petrol stations in Dubai add an added service touch that Singapore's petrol stations do not have, says STOMPer Khin.

Khin, who was recently in Dubai, says that it is necessary for petrol stations to provide such simple services.

In an email, STOMPer Khin says:

"Recently I visited Dubai and at a petrol station on the way to Desert Safari, I noticed this Air and Water Dispenser, which is very different from the air dispensers in Singapore petrol stations.

"It is a considerate idea for essential items to be provided as cars that are too hot also need to have their water levels topped up."

How is this surprising? In Singapore only the air is free. Everything else, including bare necessities such as water, food, shelter, a job, freedom of expression, etc. you have to pay and pay and pay to have a chance at.

I think the signage really meant "air" and "water" (both in English, not Malay). If the "air" word was a Malay translation of the English word "water" on the sign, why will there be 2 different Arabic words??
