Is that right? CCTV camera points towards turf green instead of pedestrian walkway

STOMPer st22 wonders if this CCTV camera has been properly installed as it is facing the turf green instead of the pedestrian walkway at Jurong East MRT.

"I just can't figure out what is the purpose of that?"

Maybe many don know but in many other countries, tracks, suspended tracks/bridges are important structures constantly targeted by terrorist and are always guarded by police or by Millitary police in Taiwan's case. If these structures are sabotaged, imagine how many in the MRT would suffer. So u ask urself this, is it important to monitor these structures?

I wouldn't mind cctv not looking at me. now public places they r watching you. recent years cctv in the lift. Later you will find cctv in yr own bed room. OOoo thats fun huh? Technology improves society they also corrupt. Give it a thought what if cctv doesn't exist. dont tell me they going to put sumbody in the lift with a dark shades to watch over you instead. and that somebody is watching you or yr gf at areas u would be uncomfortable with and say im just doing my job. can't you see that leash on our neck? slowly, tighter tighter..

@ STOMPer st22: "This CCTV camera [...] is facing the turf green."

In ANOTHER (nicer) universe, maybe SLA thinks it's good to monitor the grass performance at the Jurong East field. These cameras are also good for real-time birdwatching as well.

In THIS (not-so-nice) universe, CCTV cameras are more geared towards the prevention of bad things like vandalism & other heinous crimes against objects like MRT tracks & columns.

ha ha ha, an idiot advocating for an idiot. @jwaccount dont be childish la.This kinda sentence are used by kids in primary school. what are 10yr old? These cameras are use to monitor the pillars and tracks so no one can sabotage it. Plain logic.why would they install so many cameras at the link way just to watch ppl walk pass? Doesn't make sense does it
