The driver of this ambulance seems to think his vehicle has to right to park anywhere he likes, including handicap lots. In an emergency it's quite understandable, but what about just for lunch?

Here's what the upset STOMPer wrote in an email today (Mar 18):

"Do private ambulance drivers have the authority to park at handicap lots?

"It was lunch hour at Whampoa Food Centre, at around 1.17pm. I saw this private ambulance parked at the handicap lot at Lor Limau. Not long afterwards the crew walked to the hawker centre for lunch.

"This is not the first time I've seen them doing it. I hope the company will look into the matter. Please don't misuse handicap lots."

Give this ambulance driver a break la, perhaps he got no time, just need 10 mins to gobble down some food and get on with his work. He is human too. He is in a hawker center, not enjoying himself in a restaurant or shopping centre rite?

The way things are going, I am afraid we will soon become a lawless society. Nowadays, people just don't care and the most frightening part is,many have total disregard for the law. Something is wrong with the authority and society at large. Gone are the days where people have total respect for the law and will think twice before committing an offence. Today, law enforcements are lacking and people just don't care. Because the likelyhood of being caught are extremely remote as there are simply not enough enforcement officers to do the job.
