STOMPer AllMighty88 spotted this lorry parked illegally at the loading/unloading bay of a block of flats in Jurong. On its windscreen was pasted a notice apologising for any inconvenience caused.

Here's what AllMighty88 wrote in an email today (Mar 11):

"I came across a clever sign put up by the driver of this Singapore Food Industries truck.

"The note asks enforcement officers to think twice before issuing a summons to him while he is parked illegally at the HDB loading and unloading bay.

"This has happened quite a few times already.

"It was parked right outside of Block 601 of Jurong West Street 62, on the evening of Mar 9 at 6:00 pm."

Probably most of you guys never have even felt or heard the experiences of a delivery driver, let alone been one. Not all loading/unloading bays allow the parking of vans or ten footer trucks. They are only meant for larger vehicles like 14 footer and 24 footer trucks. Some loading/unloading bays have small and limited capacity, in such situations when time is of essence, drivers will have to sometimes take the risk to do such things in order to meet timelines. Easy for people who hide in their cubicles all day sitting behind a screen and typing comments that are stupid, selfish and inconsiderate without giving a thought for the physical and mental stress that delivery drivers face each day to make a living. Singaporeans again showing their constantly improving complaining ability and inconsiderate nature. What then sets you apart from the mainland animals that are slowly engulfing our once cooperative and understanding multi-ethnical society?

Loading / Unloading bay is meant for such people to load / unload goods from their vehicle... if they can't park there, then what's loading / unloading bay for....ha....ha...

Shopping malls and commercial buildings loading / unloading bay are also meant for these delivery vans / lorries.

So you want the lorry driver to park at the MSCP, place coupon, carry the heavy box all the way to the customer??? then what's the use of the loading/unloading bay??? put yourself on the poor driver's shoes, then you will know. talk is easy.

this is just abuse.. if that is allowed, why can't i put this sign up and don't get summoned? "Park here for the night. Will be out tomorrow morning. Sorry for any inconvenience caused"
If they are allowing this.. that URA/HDB are not working...

Y bother... unless stomper is also a delivery person waiting to use the bay but found that its full therefore stomper post this instead?

At least i find that the driver have the courtesy to inform other bay users that he be back soon. Just an additiona value service only.

If not Stomper can wait and time see how long the driver do his delivery and post again? if the driver come back like an hour time, stomper u can stomp like no other business. LOL
