Taxi changes lanes abruptly, nearly causing crash

The reckless driver of this taxi nearly caused a crash but cutting across two lanes without signalling, says STOMPer James.

James was shocked when the taxi suddenly came into his lane and had to hit his brakes hard in order to avoid an accident.

In an email, STOMPer James:

"I was driving down Sengkang East road this evening when this white taxi (SHB6678A) sped up and cut recklessly into my lane without signalling.

"I was forced to brake to avoid hitting it.

"Attached is the video taken with my in-car dashboard camera for your viewing."

Think that the taxi driver did signal to you but maybe you just not satisfy the taxi driver is faster than you to cut your lane! And why you are filming as you are driving? Aren't you also a kind of reskless driver?

I live up north and work down south, I travel to and from work daily either by the CTE or the Upper Thompson~Lornie route. Honestly speaking, incidents like cars cutting in abruptly, switching lanes without signalling, forced lane-cutting during jams, e-braking to pick up passengers, motorcycles "snaking" in and out at high speed etc etc etc happen almost once every few minutes. Now I'm not saying we should condone them simply because they are happening so frequently, but since we already know these things are, and will always, occur, please take better care and be cautious when driving. You know, its a blessing for all of us who are here stomping away, coz for those unfortunate souls who did not manage to avoid / get out of accidents, they will never have another chance to stomp, ever, even when they are the ones with the most to stomp about. Take care.

STOMPer James: the van is white in colour if you crash into him you must be fxxking blind and there is still alot of space inbetween, you are trying to speed up but your car let you down right. Try driving a ten wheel truck next time and nobody will cut into your path. Stop crying lah, singapore is not a one horse town.
