STOMPer RoadCatch was shocked when a bus driver not only caused an accident by driving recklessly, but actually showed the STOMPer and friend the middle finger as they drove past.
"Incident took place on Aug 3 2012 at 5.30pm at Jalan Kayu flyover towards Piccadilly Circus. I was commenting to my friend how aggressive the bus driver was because he sounded his horn at the car in front of him just after the lights turned green at Jalan Kayu flyover.
"That should have been our warning sign. Our car was beside the bus as we turned down the curved road towards Piccadilly Circus. All of a sudden, the bus swerved into our lane, almost running us off the road. My friend had to brake to a complete stop.
"The bus barely missed scraping the front of the car. She sounded her horn till she was able to move off. We expected the driver to at least wave his hand in apology as we drove past the bus.
"Guess what we got? He gave us the middle finger!!! I got my friend to stop the car and I went down to confront the driver and to take pictures of him. He drove off before I could take the photos.
"We tailed him and managed to get a few snap shots of the bus and the driver. To the bus driver: You know you are driving a big sized vehicle, please take care and know your surroundings before someone gets hurt.
"And being at the age you are at doesn't give you the right to be rude to a woman. Section 509 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, Singapore: Whoever, intending to insult the modesty of any woman, utters any word, makes any sound or gesture, or exhibits any object, intending that such word or sound shall be heard, or that such gesture or object shall be seen by such woman, or intrudes upon the privacy of such woman, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both.
"I have written to SBS, but have yet to receive a reply or an apology."
