Reckless driver swerves into lane and almost causes accident

STOMPer iljd was at the junction of Jalan Anak Bukit yesterday (Aug 1) when a car swerved into his lane, almost causing an accident.

Iljd said:

"I took this video at Upper Bukit Timah Road, at the junction Jalan Anak Bukit.

"We really need less of these drivers on our roads."

Those who think stomper was wrong must either be idiot drivers who think they have every right of way on the road, or people who took the highway code countless times before you miserably passed it by luck. Either way you are the one who needs to stay out of the roads given you pathetic lack of judgement and knowledge of the road laws.

From the video, we can clearly see that (1) the traffic light is green in favour of the stomper, (2) the fact that there are cars in front on the left of stomper shows that he did not rocket off the stop line at the start of the green light, hence the possibility of the yellow car beating the red light is very remote.

If I remember correctly, this junction has no slip road from the right, and has a traffic light with a green arrow. There is an opposite lane with this big junction, many motorist try to make an illegal U-Turn.

If you could show us a longer video, we would be able to understand more.

Either way. Since it's green light for the driver, and it has been green for sometime, the Yellow car couldn't have just beaten the red light and hence made an illegal U-Turn.
And it is the Yellow car's fault, despite what you all think.

This thesis is purely based on my assumption.

this kind of things happen on the road…if you really wants safe driving…take a bus or MRT……stop driving…..you should have slow down and given way to the yellow car if you wanted but you chose to speed up n start complaining……it all depend how kind you wanna be on the road…..

In your video, we can see that you choose to accelerate even more instead of slowing down. (by noticing the distance between you and the black car on your left has suddenly pull nearer)
Both cars in the wrong. yellow car fail to give way to on-coming car whether intentionally or not and stomper deliberately speed up hoping to prevent yellow car from entering into his lane.

Both drivers are at fault, one legally while the other ethically. Go sort out who is who.
