'It's frustrating that drivers of large vehicles go out of designated expressway lanes'

STOMPer Skittles hopes something can be done about errant drivers of large vehicles who stray out of extreme left lanes on expressways.

The STOMPer wrote:

"Every day that I am on the highway, there would be vans, lorries, trucks, cargo trucks on every lane other than the extreme-left lane.

"These drivers should know that by driving on the middle or extreme-right lane of the highway, they will surely get into trouble.

"However, they are totally nonchalant about being on the middle or extreme-right lane.

"Even though they are not overtaking, they just drive leisurely on the middle or extreme right lane at 60 kph.

"There's totally no response from these drivers when I honk at them.

"The highway is so congested because of drivers with such a mentality.

"Frankly, I have tried sending emails of these pictures to the Traffic Police but every single day, I still see so many of such drivers on the highway."

Frankly, stop hogging the right lane too stomper, there's no such thing as a fast lane except for an over taking lane and also for emergency vehicles. Look at the photos you submitted, most of them showed that you're traveling on the right lane. Are you speeding or are you constantly at 90km/hr?

Sometime I wonder if the authorities are ignoring these errant drivers intentionally... Cos these vehicles will only cause the traffic to slow down that what does slower traffic mean?? More ERP gantries! They only stand to win.

there are regulations and penalties. if they are not served, its like a barking dog and wont bite! they are just contributing to congestion and COE quotas!

@redplate4cheapskates,

Ok. If lorries going into the 2nd and the 1st lane is wrong and dangerous which I don't approve too

i hope the TP do their work and catch more of such lorries and especially Dump Truck which some time travel at high speed which is very dangerous to every one on the road. Speeding is a issue but such driver inconsideration is also danger to the road.

@shameofyou ,

I know for certain extreme left lanes, they are turn-offs to somewhere else. For example the exit to PIE(Changi) from BKE which I take everyday is one such example. However, lorries filter to the second or first lane way before the turn and drive at a slow pace. This makes the slower cars on the second lane come out to the first lane slowing everybody down. Moreover, most of the pics show here do not have the 3rd lane turning off but most are forks. Thus, why should the lorries be keeping to the second lane? I travel by this way everyday and it is very irritating as the exit to BKE from PIE is jammed everyday because of slow moving vehicles.
