STOMPer Maree said she might have saved the missing Persian cat, Garfield, yesterday. She found a cat that looks similar to it and has taken the cat to the SPCA.

In an email (May 13), she said:

"I just saved a Persian cat from the intersection at Stadium Road, near the Singapore Netball Centre.

"It looked a lot like the cat that was posted on your website.

"I understand that it was an old post but, I do think the cat looked like Garfield.

"It was very friendly and no longer had the collar on.

"As I couldn't keep it, I dropped it off at the SPCA tonight at around 10pm.

"It had a microchip.

"Could you please alert the owner of this information? Just in case they are still looking for their cat.

"The SPCA told me they would try to locate its owner as well and would post notices in the newspapers.

"They would only keep it for a few days before putting it up for adoption."

Latest update:

STOMP had provided Garfield's owner, Peck Moh, with the information and he had paid a visit to the SPCA this afternoon. Sadly, the cat found was not Garfield.

He said:

"I went to the SPCA but sadly, the cat was not Garfield.

"I suspect it's stolen. Garfield always comes back by herself.

"My address and telephone number was also on the collar.

"I hope the person who found her or, took her, will return her to me."
