A car was left overturned at a traffic junction in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 after being involved in an accident earlier (Feb 4), as reported by STOMPers khai and Concern.
STOMPer khai wrote:
"An accident, involving a saloon car, caused a traffic jam at the junctions at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5, located near Nanyang Polytechnic.
"The vehicle is in a very bad condition, with half of its body damaged.
"The badly damaged vehicle was last seen in an overturned position.
"Traffic police officers were seen controlling the traffic."
STOMPer Concern wrote:
"This accident happened today (Feb 4) around 2:30pm.
"Many accidents have occurred at this junction between Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 and 8, yet nothing has been done to deter drivers from beating the traffic light as well as speeding.
In response to STOMP's queries, a spokesperson for the SCDF said:
"We received a call at about 2.23pm today (Feb 4) about an accident at a traffic junction between Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8.
"An ambulance was sent down to the scene as no one was trapped inside the vehicle.
"There were three casualties who were conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital -- a male Chinese who had abrasions on his legs, a male Indian who complained of neck pain and a female Indian who complained of chest and back pain."
