Ash from burnt offerings flies into my children' food

When STOMPer elavarsu asked some residents to burn their offerings at the bins provided as the ash was flying into her children's food, the residents replied: "This is how we do it."

The STOMPer wrote:

"When smoke and ambers flew into my children's food... I asked them to use the bins provided 10m away.

"They shouted: 'This is how we do it.'"

i got up from sleep in the middle of the night to a strong smell of burnign paper. I looked out the window and saw a huge pile of burnt paper offerings. they burnt just outside my window too..i am on the 2nd floor. we are a first class country but mentality still so backward. shouldnt the way we do things., even religious wise, change to suit the environment we live in andbe more realistic and caring towards those who live around us..after all THERE ARE BINS PROVIDED...only 99 % refuse to use it. so everynight i close my windows...!

i stay on the 2nd floor and very similarly, the ashes will fly into my home. its okay if you want to burn, but do burn in the bins or at least not very near void deck areas.

@username18- ashes can fly into homes.

This is a perennial problem the govt has to face. One possible solution is to get all home owners who practise this religion to bring their own bin downstairs to burn their offerings and then bring it back to their own home after everything is over. Wonder how they do it in Hong Kong which is even more crowded.
