Resident told to keep corridor clear of possessions: AMK Town Council

The residents of this flat at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 have been warned against blocking the common corridor with their possessions.

In an earlier article, STOMPer Posh had complained about the fact that the corridor was constantly obstructed with things, and hoped the relevant authorities would take action.

A spokesperson for Ang Mo Kio Town Council wrote:

"We refer to the article dated 16 January 2012 'Why like that? AMK resident blocks corridor access by leaving things outside.'

"Our officers have advised the lessee not to obstruct the common passageway and keep the corridor neat and tidy.

"Our property officers will conduct more random checks on the block while our conservancy foreman has also been instructed to conduct similar checks twice a day.

"We will continue to monitor the situation closely.

"We thank Stomper for the valuable feedback."

This type of issue has always been a cat and mouse game between TC and the residence. Very often told to b tolerant but acceptable or not often is just a thin line that separates. TC should enforce rules to the books like those in condos. No means no and they have the rights to remove and dispose! TC push here push there waste time as it will just happen again. See what happens when ppl hang their laundry at playgrounds? Also TC turn blind eye, all types of illegal potted plant, bicycle any how lock, shoe racks the size of cupboards, burners....any estate also u see....we got a long way meanwhile suck thumb

How can they allow their foreman to do the checks on their behalf? Are the foreman authorize to do so?

Yes, it is TC officers or their foreman duties to regular inspect their in-charge blocks at least once per week!

The AMK Town Council so good, at least they promised to conduct checks twice a day.

maybe they will maybe theywont. TC every where should do checks regularly. not only when neighbours complain. then only residents will buck up. you shd come to my floor. theres this malay neighbour whose house looks like karang guni or rubbish area. everythng they dont want is outside. when i clean outside or spray insecticide because of mosquiito and cockroaches, they scold me. Maybe thetown coucil should come and check???
