Skateboarders swear at my wife when she tells them off for being noisy

STOMPer tamanjurongsider's wife received verbal abuse from a group of skateboarders yesterday (Jan 15) after chiding them for causing a nuisance to the nearby residents.

The STOMPer wrote:

"For the past 2 years, residents, especially those staying at the lower storeys, have been constantly disturbed by the noise caused by these skateboarders who practised at the multipurpose hall regardless of whether it was in the day or night.

"This evening (Jan 15), the same group of skateboarders were approached by my wife who expressed her displeasure at the disturbance they were creating.

"When my wife photographed them in action as they refused to stop, two of them swore at her.

"I hope that this matter will be looked into."

STUPID SKATEBOARDERS Wake up your idea! The multipurpose hall is not meant for skateboarding. Have some common sense you are creating a nuisance to your neighbourhood. The best is let u guys stay in the lower floor to experience what your neighbour went through. Just don't waste your time, get a life man. I hope the govt will look into this matter as I have seen an increase nuisance in skateboarding at neighbour esp the void deck.

1. Something that puzzles me still, I noticed that all other multipurpose halls in Taman Jurong are locked up except for one and I believe this is the affected one. WHY? Why not lock this one up as well?
2. There's a skate park nearby and only minutes away from the multipurpose hall. Shouldn't these menaces utilize there instead?

Lets get to the root of the problem. STRUCTURE SHAPES BEHAVIOUR. Generations of skater will come and go. Apparently they prefer this area cos the flooring at this particular multipurpose hall is smoother, so they get less bruises when fall. While its been years the residence been tolerating the noises, that does not mean they have gotten use to it. There is a reason why this issue is being voiced out. So lets not trivialise what these residence feel strongly for. On the other hand, We cant prevent our netizens from pursuing their own interest. One suggetion is to have a place for them to play which is away from the populated area. Of course the harsher and un-creative way is to lock up these facilities. I totally agree we shouldn't blame those kids totally. The issue is well, ....... the structure.

And just because they skate, doesn't necessarily mean they want to become professional skaters and get scouted or something what... I type doesn't mean I want to be a secretary... I do Science homework doesn't mean I want to be a scientist.. I walk and run during NAPFA doesn't mean I want to be an athlete. I cook instant noodles doesn't mean I want to be a chef.. Goodness what is wrong with you? Probably adults but never think before typing. == Sheesh. And teenagers are the ones who are always in the spotlight about stupid stuff like this.
