Ceiling comes crashing down near Marine Parade coffeeshop

A portion of the ceiling from a walkway at Marine Parade Central suddenly collapsed onto the ground in the morning yesterday (Dec 8). STOMPer jin yuan wonders if such structures elsewhere will be prone to an accident like this.

The STOMPer wrote:

“A section of the false ceiling from the walkway along Block 81 Marine Parade Central came crashing down near the coffee shop.

“Someone called the police and they arrived on scene to cordon off the area to prevent people from walking into the affected area.

“Thankfully, no one got hurt in this incident.

"How safe are ceilings these days?”
