This sign at Taman Jurong Market and Food Centre is a jumbled mess of wrong and outdated information, according to STOMPer Glutton.
In his email today (Mar 14) he wrote:
"This picture was taken at level 3 of the Taman Jurong Market and Food Centre at Yung Sheng Road.
"The signboard carries the words in Chinese "Lao ban niang xi can" (literally, Shopkeeper's wife's western food or "proprietress' western food").
"However the words in English says "Lady's Boss Western Food" and the lady's boss could be the husband or a male boss who is her employer. The messages in two languages do not mean the same thing and might cause confusion in the mind of diners.
"Also there were two stalls with the same address: #03-170.
"One says the stall sells "goreng pisang" (fried bananas) and the other stall says " da jia le xiao chu" (Everybody Happy Little Kitchen) and it actually sells cooked food. The stall has never sold 'goreng pisang' since it first opened for business."
don't care too much about the english. kthxbai.
A food centre is usually not a very big area whereby you need signs and directional boards to direct you. One can easily comb the whole area in 5 - 10 minutes to see what they want to eat.
BTW, WHICH STALL DUN SELL COOKED FOOD? UNLESS It is sashimi!
