The woman who climbed on top of a taxi before screaming and stomping on the roof of the vehicle in Hougang has been identified as a 19-year-old Vietnamese national. According to a report in The New Paper, a setback in a romantic relationship could be the cause.
STOMPer guzhengz had witnessed the incident yesterday morning (Feb 16) and sent a video to STOMP.
The New Paper report revealed that the incident near Block 951, Hougang Avenue 9, at about 8.45pm yesterday.
The Vietnamese woman, described as being pretty with long hair, had apparently stopped the yellow taxi, climbed on its roof and started to jump, kick and shouted for about 25 minutes.
A witness said that when the driver got out to try to calm her down, the woman would not stop and gestured to him. When he tried to get closer, she grabbed his hair and warned him not to get closer.
It is also understood that the taxi was not the only vehicle she stopped. One cabby drove off when he saw the woman behaving strangely, talking to herself and scolding someone.
She was even spotted lying in the middle of the road, causing a traffic jam, at one point of time.
The woman was later arrested by the Police for disorderly behaviour. Even after being handcuffed, she was still seen kicking and yelling in Vietnamese.

her actions may seem ridiculous, but did we even try to understand why she reacted this way?
