Man rides through red lights on his motorised bicycle

STOMPer shariff spotted this man riding through red lights on his motorised bicycle on a public road.

In his iPhone contribution, the STOMPer said:

"This elderly man is seen riding one on the road, beating every red light he comes to."

STOMP checked with the LTA website and found that motorised bicycles are allowed on public roads if they are certified based on a set of technical requirements.

In fact, motorised bicycles that are approved do not need to be registered with LTA, and are subject to the same traffic rules as conventional bicycles.

no accident or death on the road for these riders... they do not observe traffic.. causing danger to themselves and other road user... LTA and TP should get them out of road...

HEY GUYS! Do drove around little Thailand area, really make you feel like your are in Bangkok with all these electric bikes going around with riders and 'passengers' without helmets. They come and go so fast that I could have times to pull my camera. Else, can show you all.

These electric bikes has advanced so fast, that it's almost hard to differential between them and the motorbike already.

Just like the recent accident that took our Gold medalist's life. Only when accident happen, then perhaps the Authority will reason/pressure to take action.

nothing new. its a common sight. even petrol driven bicycles are seen. the authorities are not updating their regulations to protect both the interests of cyclists and drivers! motorised cyclists should know their machines are more powerfl than bicycles and can do harm whereas drivers must not underestiamte their speed and power too?
