STOMPer Charitarian was delighted to catch sight of this heartwarming scene of hospice staff taking the elderly inmates to sightsee Chinatown.
He told us in an email today (28 Jan):
"These pictures were taken this morning near Sago Lane in Chinatown.
"As I was shopping for my Lunar New Year goodies, I was surprised to see a van pulling to a halt and the driver then putting out a ramp to allow some elderly inmates in wheelchairs to descend from the van.
"These were inmates from a hospice and the nursing staff (dressed in blue uniform) told me that they were bringing these inmates to see Chinatown as part of their annual programme to cheer up the inmates.
"At this time of the year, Chinatown is full of flowers, decorations and people and it was a magnanimous gesture on the part of the nursing staff to bring the inmates to visit a crowded place to bring some joy to their lonely hearts.
"Well done, matron and nursing staff."
