STOMPer Crane Driver was impressed by how fast these workers installed this 8-metre high marquee at Block 283, Bukit Batok East Avenue 3.

Says this STOMPer:

"These picture were taken at an open field near Blk 283, at Bukit Batok East Ave 3.

"The 8-metre high marquee (used for a religious purpose) was put up by a team of efficient workers who used a hydraulic truck crane to assist them in the work.

"One worker was standing in the 'pail' at the end of the swinging arm of the crane and he was busy fixing the screws and nuts.

"Another worker was fixing the light bulbs and fans. So putting up a marquee has gone high-tech and the work is safer and takes a shorter time.

"Last week when I passed the same place I saw a team of workers using tall ladders to fix the lights and fans.

"The worker was perched on a tall ladder and by moving his legs he was able to shift the position of the ladder to fix a second light bulb.

"However his safety was compromised as he was not harnessed to a reliable support."
