Fire breaks out at a Tampines Street 32 HDB flat

A fire broke out this afternoon at a Tampines Street 32 flat and STOMPer HBH sent in this video filmed from his flat in the neighbouring block.

In his email to STOMP today (Nov 13), the STOMPer wrote:

“I was eating lunch at about 1:30pm when I noticed that the view out from my window was hazy.

“Thinking it was due to some forest fires in our neighbouring countries, I was nonchalant about it till I saw fire plumes engulfing the view from my kitchen window.

“The video was taken from my balcony just across the block.

“Please note that there were some barely audible explosions and the fire spread to the 2nd floor unit.

“There was ensuing chaos in the background and the SCDF officers trying their very best to prevent the spread.

“Please hail their bravery and steadfast courageousness.”

STOMP contacted SCDF and a spokesman said:

“The fire broke out at a second floor unit at Block 387 Tampines Street 32.

“SCDF received a call about the fire at 1:29pm.

“Two fire engines, a red rhino, a support vehicle and an ambulance were sent to the scene.

“The fire involved unattended cooking and it was extinguished in five minutes using one water jet.

“No one was injured in this accident.”

maybe HDB might rethink of having a back door as a fire escape, notice all private home have a back door.
