Fire rages at Woodlands rubbish dump early Monday morning

Residents of Woodlands St 13 were awoken by a raging fire that engulfed a rubbish dump early today (Nov 9).

In an email to STOMP today (Nov 9), the STOMPer who sent in these pictures says:

“A fire broke out early this morning at a rubbish dump at Woodlands St 13 Blk 159 at approximately 5.30am to 6am.

“Pictures were taken just as firefighters arrived at the scene at around 6.10am.

“The fire was very big as the area on fire was littered with old furniture, mostly made of wood.

“It took the firefighters 10 mins to douse the flame.

“First picture shows the fire burning and firefighters trying to put out the fire, second and third pictures are of the aftermath.”
