Huge rats seen at Yishun Park

Something must be done to prevent a rat infestation, says STOMPer altonlsg, who was shocked to see huge rats and several burrows at Yishun Park.

This STOMPer says:

"These pictures was taken after a run on a bright morning, around the nearby Yishun Park when I was walking back home.

"I was looking at the scenery when I saw something odd.

"I saw a rat, not moving but still alive. Its size was quite big and from what I saw, it should be an adult one.

"This could be seen as trivial but I hope the relevant authorities can look into it as this area is a huge piece of land and easily neglected.

"I like the area as it provides a good running route but if I can see one rat there in the morning, I do not know what happens at night.

"Also, a few burrows were seen. Hope something can be done before they continue to breed."

They're just animals; they happen to be very successful so you call them vermin (by that definition you are no better). They carry diseases; well so do you and about every other animal to. What ever happened to tolerance, understanding, and compassion? What? Something inconveniences you so you must destroy it? Why do we take over land, assume control, and destroy whatever we feel like, attempting to justifying our actions because it's supposedly 'our land'. No it is not, it is every beings right to live freely among the Earth; it is not your right to take over and destroy just because you fail to see the error in your own actions. Educate yourself, examine what you think you know/believe, use logic and evidence to determine what is right and wrong, and even then keep an open mind.

I also saw rat and cockroaches at a HDB estate namely Jurong West Street 41 at Block 470 and Block 471 during daytime and nightime. They must be hungry for food. Perhaps some residents/non residents are having their meals on the void deck.

I fully agree!, ang mo kio has really too many of them. Sometimes i think if its the PM's area, the TC would take extra measures to curb them. but nooo.... always wonder why these rats don't come out during election time when the candidates come asking for votes. And pls stop feeding our lazy stray cats. Train them to kill the rats!
