The bird that frequents a coffeeshop
Tweet
This egret frequents a coffeeshop in Bukit Batok to feed on diners' leftovers, says STOMPer bird lover.
This STOMPer says:
"These pictures were taken near a coffeeshop at Blk 217, Bt Batok St 21.
"This cattle egret usually hangs around the coffeeshop and it feeds on the fish which are discarded by the diners.
"At times it forages in the grass for grasshoppers and insects.
"The cattle egret is a small white heron with a yellow bill. It walks slowly adjacent to moving cattle and may perch on tree branches.
"It is the most social of herons and usually moves as a troupe.
"In Singapore you can find groups of cattle egrets, especially after the field has been mowed by a machine."

This is what happens when humans fool around and upset hte balance of development and the natural environment. To make way for housing development, the green parts of Singapore have been severely compromised and what's worse is that habitats of all the beautiful wild birds and animals have been destroyed. Without a home and food source, they now have to venture into the human environment to pick up such scraps. And people think they are a nuisance.
