Buffalo Rd residents advised on cleanliness through house visits and posters: TC

Tanjong Pagar Town Council says it has conducted visits to the homes of the residents staying in Buffalo Road to advise them against littering.

Anti-littering posters are also displayed at lift lobbies to urge residents to keep their area clean.

This came in response to STOMPer Sim's feedback, in which he said that a persistent litterbug had thrown liquid food out of his flat and it had hit his baby.

Tanjong Pagar Town Council said:

"We wish to thank STOMPer Sim for the feedback.

"Since August 2009, the Town Council has conducted several rounds of door-to-door visits and advised the residents of Blk 663 Buffalo Road the importance of keeping the environment clean.

"In particular, we visited the flats from the 13 to the 21 floor of the apartment blocks seeking their cooperation not to throw litters or items out of the bedroom windows.

"To raise the awareness of the problem of littering, the Town Council had also served appeal notices to the residents and posters are displayed at the lift lobby of the apartment block.

"We will monitor the situation and continue to be on the lookout for the culprits of the littering acts."
