STOMPer Simple Simon feels the authorities should build a bridge over this huge drain that separates residents Ghim Moh Road, Ghim Moh Link and Dover Rise from Buona Vista MRT.

The STOMPer wrote:

"These pictures were taken near the Buona Vista MRT station.  

"This is, perhaps, the most unfriendly MRT station in the whole of Singapore.

"First, if you are switching from the E-W line to the CC, the walk is very tedious for old people as the distance is almost 100m.  

"The present tunnel which links the MRT station to Block 12A , Ghim Moh Road benefits only a few blocks of residents.

"The only exit is at North Buona Vista Road and for residents of Ghim Moh Road, Ghim Moh Link and Dover Rise, the walk home is a very long walk and very taxing for old commuters.  

"I suggest that the rail authorities build a bridge across this canal to link the MRT station to the junction of Ghim Moh Rd/Commonwealth Avenue West.  

"There is a pedestrian crossing at this junction.  

"This will benefit the residents of Ghim Moh Road, Ghim Moh Link and Dover Rise and also the workers of  the MOE Language Centre at Ghim Moh Road.  

"The convenience of commuters who live in Ghim Moh Road and Ghim Moh Link should be paramount as the present tunnel for pedestrians is too far away."
