STOMPers Asha and Sajiv love their six year old Japanese Spitz, Laks, for her intelligence and more. Not only can Laks tell when any family member is ill, she also knows how to deal with toddlers carefully.

In an email to STOMP, student Asha told us:

"My pet dog is very intelligent and loving to each and every member of my family.

"The special thing about my dog is that she is so attached to us that she knows when a member of the family is ill or in pain. She will stay by their side the whole day, comforting them. She will not leave their side to play with the others.

"I love to bring her for strolls in the evening around my estate. She enjoys running and romping in the open fields of Pierce Reservoir.

"She also loves toddlers. When my one year old nephew visits us, she is always by his side and enjoys playing with him. She also knows that he's young and doesn't play rough.

"Overall, I think she is very loyal and understanding."
