Why give shopper voucher that's to be used on the same day?

STOMPer friendly received a voucher after purchasing items at a departmental store. However, the voucher was due on that very day.

Said the STOMPer (Jan 28):

"What for give voucher when it's due today?

"I was at OG buying things.

"After I had made my payment, I took a look at the voucher and I saw it's due today.

"If it is due today, what for give the customers?"
